Beppu is the second largest producer of geothermal water in the world. Located on the island Kusyu, Japan. Beppu is a very popular tourist area in there,
but unfortunately not so well known in the world. 1 is Umi Jigoku hell that means "sea hell". Blue pond so hot it could be to boil an egg. Hell 2 is Oniishibou, which means "bald head hell". This is because the gray mud that is in it to boil. Mud bubbles on the surface resembles a shaved head monk. 3 is Shiraike Jigoku hell means "white pond hell". His name is just white, it must be boiling white water caused by high calcium concentration. 4 is a Yama Jigoku hell means "mountain of hell.
Yama Jigoku made by a mud volcano spewed so much that it creates a small mountain surrounded by small pools. 5 is Kamada Jigoku hell that means "cooking pot hell". This is a collection of boiling hot water that is flanked by a statue of a red devil with stature as a cook. 6 is Oniyama Jigoku hell, meaning "mountain devils of hell". Oniyama is a very strong stream that can pull a car into it, and is also home to some 100 crocodiles of hell. 7 is Kinryu Jigoku Hell "golden dragon of hell". This spring is featured with a dragon rising. Steam is supplied by a spring steam and directed out of the dragon's nostrils. The dragon gives the illusion of flying because of the water gushing out at sunrise. 8 is Chinoike Jigoku hell, which means "blood pond hell". This is because the water is colored red due to iron-containing minerals. 9 is a Tatsumaki Jigoku hell, which means "fountain of hell". Tatsumaki is a fountain that sprayed every 30 minutes and has a temperature around 105° Celsius.
