Mermaid Statue or Little Mermaid (Danish: Den lille Havfrue) who has become a folk legend and also a symbol of the city of Copenhagen.
The bronze statue is a tribute to the legendary children's writer Hans Christian Andersen from Denmark. Sculpture is graceful mermaid sitting on a rock near the bay.
Mermaid Statue is an adaptation of Andersen's story made in 1837, which tells the story of a mermaid who are willing to become human because of falling in love with a prince. While the statue is the work of sculptor Edward Eriksen and dedicated to Copenhagen in 1913.
