Okinawa City (沖縄市) is located in the heart of Okinawa's main island. With an area of 48.99 square kilometers, it is the second largest city in Okinawa, Japan.
The city links the northern and southern parts of the island, making it a center for business and medical leaders, cultural programs, and government services. The population of Okinawa City is about 134,000, and it is the second largest after Naha City. Since one out of every 100 people in the city is a foreigner, it is said that Okinawa City is an international city. Okinawa City is mostly plateau with occasional areas inclining toward valleys or the sea. Okinawa City's subtropical climate brings an annual average temperature of 22.4°C; humidity, 76.5%; and precipitation, 2,000mm.
