Tula

Holiday Resolution


A region in Mexico that is currently known as the city of Tollan, became one of the country's leading tourist attractions.
In this city there are statues antlantean an archaeological site of the city. The statues will be proof if Tula became one of the greatest civilizations in Mexico in ancient times. Historically, the city was formed towards the end of the classical period when the waves as various colonial Hemisphere, migrating from north to Meso America. This group is the most numerous and great are the ones Toltec. The nation then mingle with the local people who have lived before.

Toltec expected emergence marking the rise of militarism in Meso America. As soldiers they use superior strength to dominate other communities in the region. Since then, the city of Tollan or Tula became legendary capital of the Toltec nation, as mentioned in a number of post- conquest sources.

In 1940, Jorge Acosta archaeologists digging at the Cerro del Tesoro, near the village of Tula de Allende approximately 64 km or 40 miles north of Mexico City. They found the remains of the architecture of the former town which is now called Tula Tollan. Today, the ruins of the archaeological sites are concentrated in two clusters at the ends of the ridge. The ruins remaining today include palaces, courts, and 3 temple shaped like a truncated pyramid. In the largest temples are 4.6 m high sculpture composed columnar shaped human figure called Antlatean or Los Antlatis.
